Ignition repair and replacement in Snoqualmie and North Bend
A key that won’t turn, turns only with a wiggle, or spins without starting the car usually points to a worn ignition cylinder or a failing switch. We diagnose it where the car is parked and fix it there when we can, so you skip the tow.

- Freeing a stuck key without damaging the cylinder
Before you call
Try turning the steering wheel gently left and right while turning the key. A locked steering column can stop the key from turning, and that’s a free fix. If it still won’t turn, stop forcing it and call us.
Questions about ignition repair
Can a locksmith replace an ignition?
Yes. An automotive locksmith can repair, rekey or replace many ignition cylinders and switches on site. What’s possible depends on the vehicle, so tell us the year, make and model.
Why won’t my key turn in the ignition?
Common causes are a locked steering wheel, a worn key, worn wafers inside the ignition cylinder, or debris. If wiggling the steering wheel doesn’t free it, the key or cylinder likely needs attention.
